MY STORY.

Mindy Roberts - Founder

My hope is that we give ourselves the best opportunity to have ‘Big Lives’.

For me, I’m currently a world away from my family, having just built a house on another continent, and have launched properties in places most people only dream of visiting. If you’d asked me in my 20s, I’d have said I wanted a predictable path - career milestones, steady progress, maybe having a family and travel - nothing too wild. Clearly deep down I hoped for something different...

At two pivotal moments, two different people* had profound impacts on my future direction. They nudged me off my straight line and onto a path full of forks, new countries, and the occasional lion detour. Funny how the biggest shifts are often sparked by people who don’t set out to change your life, they just show up, unapologetically themselves, and something in you is unleashed too.

After an industry change from corporate consulting into luxury travel - from the Zambian bush to Antarctica - I finally spotted a thread running through my story: I get a genuine kick out of being a little uncomfortable, challenging myself to start again, and seeing other people light up. And after one false start - choosing financial safety over bravery - I realised I was finally ready to back myself and build something bigger than just a business.

My purpose now? To be part of a community who aren’t afraid to shake things up, amplify each other, and break some programming along the way. I want to create a space where we can be honest, laugh at the chaos, and remind each other that clarity doesn’t always come before the leap - it often comes after.

Let’s make magic. Let’s be undeniably ourselves. Every legacy is built on the shoulders of those who believed in us before we believed in ourselves.

*If the universe is listening, Wayne May, if you’re out there, you’re one of my accidental mentors; you changed my trajectory, and I’d love to say thanks. And a big shout out to the other catalyst—the one and only Kate Wilson—who has created something beautiful in Mulberry Mongoose and should always be celebrated.
